Your Photo Promo

It’s time for another opportunity for you to show off your work.

Because this list of photographers has been growing in numbers we’re going to start working in “themes”.

This will probably do a couple of things.  It’s possible that the number of images submitted will drop, but then the overall look of the promotional pieces will be more cohesive and will allow for a better viewing experience.

We’ll try it out a few times and see how it works.  We can always change it up as we need.  Your feedback is welcome on anything we do here.

This month’s theme will be Black and White or Monochrome.

So send in your best black and white image.  Here are the submission details.  Same as last time.

Okay, here’s what we’re doing.  I’ll be putting together a post that highlights photographers from all over the web.  This is exclusive to those of you who signed up to the newsletter.  I’m doing this because I want to give photographers an opportunity to get backlinks to their websites and to get a little traffic as well.  I feel this is better than just plucking some images from flickr from photographers that may or may not want the exposure.

In order to make the post more dynamic (instead of just links) here’s what I’m asking of you:

1.One great image that represents your best work.  Send it back to me via email to damien[at]yourphototips[dot]com with the largest side at 500 pixels exactly.

2.Send me a very short description about the image.  This can be how it was taken, how it makes you feel, or perhaps it’s a leading image for a photography project.  Be creative but concise.  Think twitter post (140 characters would be ideal).

3.The link to your portfolio/website/flickr account…the landing page can be the home page or it can be where your actual image resides.  This is up to you.

4.The name of your website.  Sometimes this is hard to discern so please leave this info with me.  If it’s a flickr account you can leave your flickr nickname or your real name.  It’s all up to you.

If you have participated in these promotions in the past please do not use the same image.

There are some additional steps to take once the post comes out, but you’ll get an email about that later.

Expect to see the post come out sometime next week.  Thursday (8/13) will be my best guess as of right now, but I’m not making any promises.
