Your Photo Promo

A very special thank you to all of the photographers who participated in the 2nd YourPhotoTips.com Photographer’s Promo. We had 12 great works submitted and the post showing off those images is now up on the website.

The post went up about a week later than originally anticipated due to computer issues. We all have them from time to time and I think this actually worked to everyone’s advantage. I wasn’t really thinking about the original date and that would have put the post up on July 2nd which may have been too close to the 4th of July. Most people are thinking about getting away, or BBQ, or whatever and the post may have just not gotten much attention amidst all of the other distractions (like all those crazy celebrity deaths).

So here’s where we all pitch in to garner great exposure for those photographers that participated. Head to the post and help spread the word. Use your social media outlets like Twitter, StumbleUpon, Facebook, blog, etc to drive traffic to the post and hopefully to those photographers’ websites. I promise they’ll appreciate it. This is about helping photographers get their images in front of as many eyeballs as possible because you just never know what may come of it.

If you were one of the photographers that participated please let me know how the campaign went for you. Let me know if you got a good traffic bump or not. In the meantime, consider writing a guest post for the blog. It’s a great way to grab some solo attention and some backlinks to your website or blog. Those backlinks, after all, are the currency of the web. You can write about anything photography related; tips, techniques, inspiration, workflow, post-production, or review your favorite photography related product/gadget/software. Be creative. Writing guest posts are a great way to reach out to the photography community and share the experiences you’ve learned along the way. It’s just plain good karma.

Expect to see between 3-4 newsletters a month on promotional opportunites or ideas for your photography. Remember that you can unsubscribe at any time.
